Buying this for my wife sabrina, who has been admiring my ever growing collection of kukris. When i told her about auntie and uncle bill and what hi stands for, she became a fan. I think this is going to be perfect for her. Thanks auntie!

That's a good size for a Chitlangi Bowie. Most of the earlier versions were 15" overall length, and the the Giant Chit Bowie is around 24" and extremely heavy.

Even the 15" Chit Bowies are massive knives, so this one must be a monster.

Thank you so much zachariusdominus, I'm awfully glad you were here on this one. Wife would not have been happy.

I do have to play catch up with Ndog so I while this one was super nice I guess I need a bigger one. I better go back and see how big his is so I can get a bigger one huh.

That's a gem right there.

I assume you sent an email to Auntie to claim your prize? That's the important thing, your post here is a courtesy but don't mean much if someone else already emailed. Hope you nailed it.

They actually dont feel that heavy. They have 1/4 in thick spine and plenty of fuller to lighten them so that may be why. If you could imagine straightening out a Fox Folly then thats about what you got. I would have loved to get that one and I was there dangit all but im already eyeballing a big AK20". That one is a bit bigger than the regular one tho.
Congrats Zach! You will love it!
And congrats Ted! You got lucky there! That bone is nicely colored!

I guess I'll have to give up on the Christmas deals... I can't access the forum during business hours and the products are taken within 30min of their release.

Oh well. Would it be possible to post them a little later to enlarge the population of potential customers?

Otherwise, I'll cross my fingers that the early birds spend all their blade money before the end of the Christmas offerings.

As a very busy, one-person operation, Yangdu has to post at her convenience. Since they generally get snapped up within 30 minutes, she wouldn't sell any more blades by enlarging the shark population. Sometimes she ships the same day as the posting, which wouldn't be possible if she posted after business hours. Also, there will always be some people at a disadvantage due to different time zones within the U.S. and abroad, or because they're low on funds, or because the wife (or husband) has threatened to kill them if they buy one more knife, etc.

However, if you (or anybody else) see something you like as a DOTD, it doesn't hurt to drop Yangdu an email and ask if she has another one similar. That's often the case and sometimes she will sell it at the same price as the DOTD.

Having said that, it probably won't work this month because Yangdu has already said that her inventory is low. They had to relocate the shop recently, which no doubt disrupted the work quite a bit.

Gee Dave, I feel like you really singled me out and put me under a microscope. The low on funds, and the wife beatings, I was reluctant to go public with all that. I guess the closet door is wide open now, nothing for me to hide.

I would add that if your late to the party and you contact auntie and she doesn't have anymore there's no harm in sending a message to the lucky shark neither. Sometimes if you got a strong enough desire for a certain blade they'll give it up for ya. Sometimes if it hasn't shipped even have Auntie send it direct. I've passed off one or two myself. I wanted them but they were'nt in the burning desire category.

Might not work but no harm in trying. Some of these very special knives probably wouldn't do any good. Persons so happy to finally nail it they ain't likely to give it up and who can blame them.

Like right now I'm playing keep up with the ndoghouse, so a very large giant chitlangi bowie is on my radar, cept we have to consider the low funds and the wife beatings. It's a vicious circle ain't it?

zachariusdominus - if your wife beats you too hard for that purchase. I can make it stop.
I'll buy the curse from you and live happy with the beating.

If I ever have to give it up Bawanna your first on the list! BUT....thankfully I dont have to give it up yet so dont turn yourself purple! I think were goin in circles trying to keep up with each other until our wives break the circle but we keep going anyway. Isnt that a spiral?

D99: When my wife says "oh that ones pretty!" then all is ok. When she dont say anything is when im in trouble.

Take your wife on a trip to Reno and meet Auntie. All was fine with my wife and I could do no wrong. Unfortunately it only last about a month or so and then you need to make another trip.
Funny as Auntie was giving us show and tell wife said "oh that ones pretty" probably a 100 times. Go figure.
