Christmas Eve Present?

I don't know about you all but my family usually opens one gift on Christmas Eve. I'm not sure why we do it other than tradition and it's been happening as long as I remember. Do any of you do the same?

Well, I'm going to let some one open a Christmas Eve gift from me. Simply post something about your Christmas traditions and if you want, a knife pic with some snow! (It's 78 here today!) It might make me feel more in the spirit. The Christmas Eve gift will be a gold membership or a subscription to Blade or Knife Magazine. I'll select someone tonight.

We usually open stockings on Christmas Eve. That's about it as my family's schedule is different every other year. My sister's husband has a rough time holding down a job, so we adjust for her family's availability.

We used to open one gift on Christmas Eve also, when I was a kid. I haven't done that with my kids yet. Maybe this would be a good year to start. Thanks for the chance! Merry Christmas!
 
We do the same here Randy :) Not an entry, but just wanted to thank you for your generosity, and to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas :thumbsup:

 
When I was growing up - a process that seemed to halt for me somewhere along the line, resulting in my never actually achieving "adulthood" 50 years later - our family would open the presents from the family on Xmas eve. Xmas morning a whole new batch of presents and stuffed stockings from Santa appeared! Ah the magic.

My brother's family takes on a different attitude and each person is only allowed to open one gift per day starting on Christmas. I always suspected my brother of possessing a bit of masochistic tendencies. lol
 
Our most "famous" or is it "infamous" family tradition is the "Christmas Eve Gift" which I have shared here over the years. If a family member sees you on Christmas Eve and says to you the words "Christmas Eve Gift" before you said the same to him/her, you were to provide them a gift that day. I run a giveaway myself entitled "Christmas Eve Gift". You can read more about the tradition and giveaway in that thread.

When I was a kid my family did a gifting on Christmas Eve but since getting married my wife and I do her family’s tradition of a fun buffet meal and nativity play with the kids.
