Great pics! I just got a batac le off the bcs. It's awesome! what sheath are you using for yours?

that badger is a serious serial killer. looks sexy!
It's a surprisingly decent Chopper. I choked way back on the knife and let it swing. The heft of this blade did most of the work, all while looking VERY, VERY Sexy! :D

I am using the smaller of the Spec Ops brand sheath. Fits great, and the lighter tan color almost matches the handle (un-oiled as it came from Busse) perfectly. I'll try and get a pic tomorrow...

That's pretty good ash Phil:thumbup:

Great looking knives!
Thanks for the pics

Nice pics! Thanks for sharing. Is that a stroll in the park or something?

I too was surprised when I first chopped with a BATACLE. It chops quite well for such a short knife. I think a lot of it has to do with the weight and ability to choke back bringing the balance way forward. In addition, the overall geometry of the primary bevel is thin and efficient for such a thick blade.

My neighborhood has about 15 miles of paved trails w/ 6 ponds of varying sizes. Some of the trails go right behind houses and some head into the woods. Creeks, ponds, and lots of fallen timber to beat on. Only thing bad is what the neighborhood sheeple will think of some guy walking around with a knife or two, a cigar and a cup with a splash of Single Malt in it chopping at timbers. :D

On chopping with the BATACLE, I agree. Totally and pleasantly surprised by the chopping ability. Choked way back on the knife, almost 1/2 the handle in front of my hand and let it fly. The contours of the handle make it easy to hang onto the knife. The heft and full height grind help a lot I am sure. Very easy to swing it too.

Phil,

Nice pics!!! I like that BATAC-LE myself, and I think it has one of the best feeling handles that BC pumps out. Great Knife!!!

Your pics inspired me to take my brand spankin new batac le out for some chopping. I was really surprised at how good a chopper it is. This semi compact 5" blade thinks it's 7"! At first I thought it was too thick, but the full height grind really brings it to a fine edge. I also own a Swamp Rat HRLM, Mini Mojo, Chopweiler, and a Busse Meaner, but the BATAC LE is my favorite. If I could bring only 1 of my knives camping it would definitely be the BATAC LE.

Thanks for the cool pics!!!

+1 on the BATAC LE... compact, yet an excellent chopper.

This is why I think the ASH-1 fatties are going to be a lot of fun.
