I haven't seen many narrow bladed fighters on here lately so I thought I'd share this one I cooked up the other day.

I made this little fighter as a Christmas gift for my uncle. He has a collection of factory bowies and fighters but no customs so I thought he might enjoy getting something a little nicer and less clunky than what he's used to.

8 1/4" blade and 13" oal
The blade is 5/32" thick at the plunges. Ricasso is 1/4"
Blade and fittings are Aldo's 1084. Handle is Wenge with Tru-oil finish.

This knife is stupid light and very fast in the hand. Balance point is about 1/2" in front of the guard. It only weighs 4.5 ounces:eek:

There are a few things I'm not happy with on this one, but overall I like the design and I did manage to nail the feel I was aiming for. More fighters are definitely in my near future.
Thanks for looking!

Very nice! Great job on the grain in the handle, that pattern really adds character to the knife.

Jason nice job! I like the way you worked that wenge, it has an almost composite look.

Great job! That is too cool... I really like the way you worked the handle. I bet it is very fast in the hand, that is as light as can be.

Very nice Jason! All the facets on the handle, guard, and ricasso flow together nicely, I really like the color combo of the blued fittings and the Wenge.

The Tim Burton comments went over my head, but thanks for the encouragement guys! It means a lot to me when makers and collectors I really respect like my work.

Wenge has long been one of my favorite woods for cabinets and furniture but this is the first time I've used it on a knife. It turned out better than I anticipated.

Again, thanks for looking!

Tim Burton made the animated movie "The nightmare before Christmas".

Kind of spooky, but cool. I think the comment was meant as a compliment to the style of your knife.

I really like the sleek angular shape to the knife. Not only does it look great, but it is unique as well.
