Hello,

Yesterday I've received a great parcel from our friend Jack Black Jack Black ,
The knife is just great and it's my first English Lambsfoot and Barlow. A great beginning and I hope to stay at this level for the others ;)
But the other gifts were also very much appreciated because they reminded me my first school trip when a very nice family welcomed a young french teenager and his two English words in their house of Leeds. There I learnt that at 6PM it's not a late afternoon tea but the diner, I had a beautiful classical concert at Leeds theater and I discovered that a blanket can be plugged into an electrical outlet.
Since this year of 1985 this family is in my memories and I have learn two more English words. Thank you Jack Black Jack Black :)🍻

I hope you enjoy using the Lambsfoot pattern Jean-Marc :) I hadn't realised you had visited Leeds, where I have lived for the past 20 years. Do you remember which area of the city you stayed in?
I don't remember. I see a typical English street with its little houses, their bow-windows and piece of grass but it could be everywhere. I have to say that the only geographical obsession I had at this moment was to find shops to buy the latest volume of Gungeon & Dragons which was not available in France AND a pair of Doc Martins' shoes o_O.

Sorry 😂

Fair enough my friend, I used to visit Leeds quite often in the 1970's and 80's, and with one or two exceptions, I can't remember where I went! :D
Welcome to the club JM ! I suppose your first two English words were : "This ? Food ?" pointing at the bowl of translucent green jello (or was it porridge?) ! 😂😂😂
Well done Jack, you aimed at the right guy ! This is really a great knife for a good man ! 👍👍👍
I was pleased when I saw Prester John Prester John had gifted you one recently Alain, so that you and Jean-Marc were both in the club! :D Don't forget to visit post #1 in the Guardians thread to find a link to the Guardians World Map
This awesome, and so is Jack.

That my friend is a beautiful Knife - I Think you are going to love that knife more as you see that lovely Stag develop a nice Golden rich Hue and a great Patina.
Thanks Duncan, I wish I had a sackful of these knives, so that I could send everyone one :)

I have a friend up in Leeds, when we visited Harrogate and Skipton for the 12' rally, I paid him a visit. We went to his "cave", the pub quite next door. Had nice pints. too bad it falled halberds, sorry, cats and dogs but that's not the reason why I don't remember the name of the place ! 😂😂😂

I've never actually been inside! :D Do you remember the long steep hill (perhaps it didn't make such an impression at that age, as it might now)?! :D Good job there is a pub halfway up (and several more at the top) ;)

Nice pictures, and a great gift for our French friend, Jack!!

Christmas indeed!!! I know the feeling intimately, having been a recipient of Jack's generosity myself.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and pictures. A school trip to another country? How exciting! The best trip I ever took with school was in my senior year when we went to Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Magic Mountain.
