I'm needing suggestions on EDC for gift idea. My Girlfriend is set on getting me something nice for Christmas, shes even mentioned getting me a Sebenza or Strider. I'd love to have either one, owned a couple of SNG's before, but ended up having to sell them off mostly to help with college fee's. Me and nice things don't go together, probably the reason I chose the Strider over the Sebbie last time, not saying Striders aren't as nice. They just look more like something I could use and not worry about as much. I'm far from being a collector, I like using knives way too much. Any ways, I've tried explaining that to her, but shes still hell bent on getting me a higher end knife of some sort.

Heres what I like and looking for, if theres such a thing besides Strider or CRK

- Frame lock, Ti or Stainless as long as its strong
- 3.5" - 4" Blade - Plain edge, Preferably not tanto or recurve blade
- Good blade strength, nothing really thin or delicate tip
- Flow through handles are nice, but not a must
- Thumbstud/Disc preferably

Hope that wasn't too picky. So far I've looked at Mayo TNT, Bradley Alias, LG Sebenza, Strider SNG, Emerson framelocks (liked those just can't find any for sale).

Sebenza by far is the most appealing to the eye just not sure on how it'd be for EDC. Hollow grind looks thin. Any one with a well used Sebenza want to post a pic I'd love to see one with some WEAR.

If y'all can think of anymore knives, you think I might need to check out let me know.

Thanks,
Adam

How about the CRK Umnumzaan or the Zero Tolerance 0300 series?

Or you could look at the Spyderco Sage II (blade a little smaller than you specified).

Get the Seb and beat the heck out of it.

Here's one Lg Seb 10 years old.
Also a BM 913 D2 Stryker Ti Linerlock.

Check out the Bradly Alias I. I here it is made by Benchmade.

Firstly, I don't like Tanto blades. Well, I did find one that 'grew' on me - the new-this-year Benchmade 760BK LTi, a Lum style Tanto bladed Ti frame-lock with an M4 blade. Super knife - great action and hand 'feel'. If you really don't like the Tanto, Tom Krein, etc, can regrind it for you. It really is a nice knife with a great blade steel. Here is mine with my 710 D2, both new this past summer:

I bought mine because I liked the knife and thought I'd have the Tanto end ground into a modified drop point - nope - it's nice enough as-is. Besides, maybe there will be a drop point variant in the future??

The ZT 300 series could be what you're looking for. I have the smaller version (350) liner lock. If the framelocks are anything like that, they're plenty tough with a very robust blade and tip.

If you want a Seb, though, see if you can find a large regular and use it for whatever you want. It'll hold up just fine. None of mine have ever failed in EDC work or outdoor carry/use.
