I'm trying to assemble a package of Kershaws to hook my brother on knives.

I've spent $70 on a Mini Mojito and Tactical Blur already (mostly just because they were on sale), and I'm looking to drop around $100-150 at the local knife store this week.

Any advice?

I'd go a little more practical. JYD II, Regular Mini Cyclone, Speed Bump. That way you get a range of sizes, most of the major innovations and he doesn't have to feel weird about beating on a 150 dollar knife. If he really gets into it let him buy his own 150 dollar knife. Plus you get to feel like one heck of a guy b/c you got him 5 presents......but no one here would hold it against you if you only gave him 4.....now, which one to keep for yourself?;)

Geeze,.....for about halfway in between the $100-$150 remaining budget you should be able to pick up a ZT 0200,.....though probably not at your local store. :)

You might be able to find one on ebay for a quick deal, ........however.

If that doesn't hook him,.....nothing will. These things kinda grow on you,......and i'm infected real bad!!! :D

I totally agree with the above quoted statement 100%. Buy a ZT 0200 if you don't mind owning a very solid, large, heavy, heavy-duty folder that has the fit, finish, & feel of a folder costing twice as much $ as it does.

A Leek is what hooked me. Can't go wrong with one of those.

I have to agree with VL. It's a wonderful knife to get someone started with.
It's what I still EDC since it's introduction into Kershaws fine lineup.
For $100 you can get one with S30V blade steel and nice G-10 scales.

I have to third this sentiment; the plain-edge ZT 0200 is GORGEOUS. Yeah, the Leek is practical and sleek, but it's a subtle piece of design brilliance, and you're probably not trying for subtlety. The 0200, on the other hand, is manly grace and power distilled into a chunk of machined black 154CM-steel knifey goodness, and will knock him dead.
