This year is quickly drawing to a close and I have been thinking about some
heartwarming events that stand out in my memory from the last 12 months.
To say the least, this year had some ups and downs, but several golden
memories make me smile and think fondly of all of you.
One of my favorite memories is when Ram got his medical degree. He will bring
excellent medical care to the small villages near his home that do not have that luxury. Just thinking about him warms my heart.
The last I heard, Ram's mother had a health problem and he is looking after
her while searching for an internship with the Nepal government hospital.
Charity apparently begins at home because, when he returned to Nepal, his
mother needed an operation immediately. He wanted to do the operation
himself, but had no place to do it. So, his mother's doctor-son had to watch
another doctor do the surgery.
Another very happy memory is the generous help all of you never fail to send
me when the shop and the Kamis need supplies to make your knives and
swords. Your unbounded generosity when Bura Kami got sick will live in my
heart forever.
We want to thank you all for your interest and support of HI and the Kamis.
All of you are a big part of both HI and the Kamis and we truly appreciate it.
I wish each of you a wonderful Christmas and an even happier New Year's. My
brother Gelbu and his wife Deena are visiting me for this holiday, so we will enjoy being with each other.
Merry Christmas!
