Christmas Ham... Shot with a Bow!

I head shot the Hog from roughly 3 yards... Put a clean hole straight through the skull and did about 10 inches of penetration into the neck.

Here's a crazy thought... A Busse broadhead?! Please let me test one out Jerry!

I think Infi would make a really fine arrowhead: sharp, difficoult to chip and could be straightened if deformed as result of impact with bones. It would also make a really expensive one and you would cry hard (really hard) in the case you loose the arrow though!

Glad you guys enjoyed! Need to get a group of friends together and go back for that massive bull in there with the bow...

Also... can't stop dreaming about an INFI broadhead... Seeing how well a two blade head can pass through bone, I would love to test one.

Nice hunting mate...!!! Good way to spend some time...!!

Where was the boar though ;) ;) :p :p

Amazing hunt for sure! Thnx for the vid! It really got those carnivore instincts excited! :D

Awesome video and great hunting!

I agree with Andy, you need to get that Boar! Not everyone gets a chance at a truly big boar, even people who have been pig hunting for years.

... If you don't want it, I'll take it ! Just tell me where it is :D ;)

Haha.. the boar was a similar size and roughly 180-200kgs would be a fair estimate. I watched him for 30 minutes at 50m and could have closed the distance to 10m easily.

We were in the process of carrying out the 180kg sow when we saw him. The car had 4 deer, 3 piglets and the sow so we couldn't justify taking the boar. Figure we would leave him for the next trip.

Also that pack of hogs was only 2-3 generations from farm escape so the boar was pure white and looked farm raised. Not much of a trophy and we already had too much meat ;) He will take a shot soon though...!

Really awesome hunt video mate! ;) Thanks so much for posting and congrats on a very successful hunt! :):thumbsup:

Biggest "wild hog" I had come through the chiller weighed just on 300kgs (yes that's correct) dressed (heart lungs and liver left in). I was barely one generation escaped from the farm and was out of a state forest that bordered a fed lot ! Our scales could not manage him so the weight had to be reported back (and the fees paid once he had got down to Sydney to be processed.

Those farm escapees are little gems aren't they?! :)

Pretty cool hunt! Congratulations.
Based on the very effective performance of the current broadhead offerings I believe a tethered harpoon, spearhead or fishing trident would probably be a better application for expensive INFI than an easily lost arrowhead. Unless you just want a neato display case one to show off.

I suppose it is a little like knives... Any kitchen knife will cut a steak... But nothing will look and feel quite like INFI! Plus I think the qualities of the steel would be perfect for a broadhead.
