I'm like an overgrown kid when it comes to Christmas. Our tree is up with lots of ornaments, some were my grandparents, some were my parents, and lots of our own. The outside lights and tree are up, and there are decorations all around inside, including the grand children's stockings. Now is when I start watching Christmas movies, and since I'm heat treating today I have some free time. My two favorites, (actually I have three, but one is only available on VHS, which I no longer have) are White Christmas and Christmas Vacation. The other one is Smoky Mountain Christmas.

My three fav movies to watch are A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, and White Christmas. Elf, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and the cartoon version of the Grinch are awesome too. Good food, some twinkling lights, and time spent with special people make it even better. I don't need any stuff, the company is the best part.

We'll be pulling the old fake tree out of storage by Christmas Eve, but at least have started the Christmas watch list...so far, "Olive, the Other Reindeer" to remind me of my long gone rat Russell, and hopefully soon (if I can find the DVD), "A Year Without Santa Claus". Heat Miser is funny.

Did a Google search for Smoky Mountain Christmas and found it on DVD for $9.99, so I ordered it. It was a tradition for us since 1987 to watch it every year while the girls were growing up, and Becky wanted to pass the tradition to the girls. Now we can all watch it together for years to come.

It seems like generally people are happy on Christmas. I enjoy being with loved ones and listening to Christmas music. One of my favorites is Snoopy vs. the Red baron song.

You probably won't believe it but I have that on an old 45 record! I got it when I was in 8th grade!

That is cool John. My wife mentioned she wanted a record player to play her old albums, maybe I should rethink her gift!

We have our Christmas tree up and we just came in from putting lights on the tree in the front yard. I don't remember how many boxes I carried down from the attic but the wife found a place for every item. My favorite Christmas movie is Christmas Vacation and I enjoy the Elf and Scrooged. The wife is a fan of Home Alone and A Christmas Story. Of course with a little running around the house we've watched all of the classic cartoons at least once, the Grinch several times.

Man, I love all those movies you guys mentioned. Our son is 20 now, but the three of us still enjoy getting the tree, decorating it, putting up lights, etc.

It's a fun time of year, people do seem to be happier.
