My wife had told me that Jessica, my 3y.o., had bought me a Christmas present and not to ask her about it. As soon as I walked through the door, "daddy, daddy I got you a present, a knife, you can't can't open it until Christmas". :)

I also just purchased myself a present, a bid won on EBay, a Grohmann #4, like new in box, $50.

So far so good!

Anybody else getting knives for the holidays. They are great gifts.

I've got too many toys already. I don't know where to put them all. I'll settle for dinner with the family.

Merry Christmas, guys and gals! :D

On the one hand I know just what you mean. Sometimes I feel like just selling it all, giving away what I can't sell, and simplifying my life. Other times I think "Enough toys? Is that possible?" :D

Yesterday my cat had to go in for teeth cleaning. They have to put them completely under for that. Sometimes people or animals don't wake up from that. Complicating matters, this guy has potential heart issues. Needless to say, I was quite concerned. Luckily, he came though it just fine. That was all the Christmas present I needed! :) That being said: I did have a couple knives on my Christmas list. Wife says she completed her Christmas shopping for me before I even gave her my list (What? Just after Thanksgiving wasn't fast enough?), so whether I'll actually receive any knives for Christmas is up in the air. I'll let y'all know.

Merry Christmas, guys and gals! :D
Same to you, Esav!

Well, we are in the middle of Hanukkah, happy Holidays !.

Luis

P.S. I bought myself a couple of Laguioles (knife and corkscrew) as shown in this post from another thread.

Muchas gracias. Feliz navidad!

In my family, we are more likely to give presents when we find something appropriate and not wait until some scheduled occasion to give them.

But there is a lot to be said for stopping in the midst of the daily routine, and coming together to celebrate.

Yep. I was an extra good boy this year so I bought myself a couple of knives. Only one left under the tree though!
