Christmas is nigh..... celebrating with a Recon Bowie !!

after passing the word amongst the family members they all decided to simplify things by contributing to the "get a Recon Bowie for Carl" Christmas fund.

It arrived yesterday, Loretta has once again been most helpful (and most patient).

What a beauty and a most welcome addition to the SOG collection. Great feel and heft and balance, awesome looks, and I can't help but think someone at SOG re-ran it through the sharpener a few extra times because it is sharp beyond sharp beyond sharp.

It shall certainly grace my dinner plate tomorrow during the family's Thanksgiving dinner.

Last night our dinner table was attacked by two large steaks !!

The steaks fought bravely but were no match for the combined defensive work of a SOG Bowie and SOG Recon Bowie....

the best knife pics are the ones at the SOG website, I sure don't have anything better.... which is just a whiny way of saying I forgot to drag out the camera before the steak battle began.

Don't need a folder, I'm a fixed blade kinda guy.....
