This is a knife I made for my brother for christmas this is only my second knife and I'm running on minimal tools. I would like some feedback and opinions. I'm only fifteen and this took forever. :).

Since there have been no responses yet and you did say you were looking for feedback, i will throw it out there. At 15, i do applaud you for having enough ambition to take on a project like this rather than sitting in the basement playing Xbox, eating cheezies and worrying about what your next facebook status should be. That said i am not meaning to be harsh with anything i saw here either. First off the clip is a bit short and steep with a very straight blade without much flow. This may sound bad, but its a start and its something you will get the hang of and improve as you go i assume. As far as the saw tooth spine area,,, i know its seen on many walmart rambo style knives, and may look cool but usually has no real function. Having a look around here will show how rarely blades are made with that feature around here by experienced makers. Again, something to learn as you go. The shoulder at the handle/blade junction seems quite square and may be uncomfortable for extended us, but it could just be the picture angle giving it a worse angle than it is. The handle shape itself is one that i don't actually mind and looks like it would be fairly comfortable, but seems that it doesn't flow to the blade that smoothly and may be a bit small in relation to the knife. Depending on the thickness of the steel the bevels are somewhat non existent and that may impede cutting performance due to blunter edge geometry. My questions are what is the steel? Was it heat treated, and if so how? How is the handle attached to the blade? how large is this knife, as far as thickness, blade length, handle length etc. Again, these points are not meant to deter you or discourage you, they are meant to help you improve and create more ergonomic useful changes to your style. The biggest thing to focus on is making each one better than the last one, and constantly improving. I would urge you go check out the shoptalk section under bladesmith questions and answers on here and read all of the stickies. There is a vast amount of knowledge there that can be gained by a bit of reading. In closing, your knife may not be a Nick Wheeler, Mike Snody, or Don Hanson, Just to name a few makers with different styles, but it is better than what i have seen by many young people here on their first build. If you have questions about my comments feel free to ask and i will try to clarify for you. I would also appreciate if you took the time to answer the few questions i asked in this response as well.
