Hi and Happy New Year to everyone! I’ve been working more on doing leather carving stuff- I’ve still got a lot to learn but I’m really enjoying learning! I made these leather carvings for Christmas presents for family and friends, please let me know what ya’ll think! Also here is one of the latest knives I made…

Very very nice work Nic! I like your tooling. Kind of reminds me of Chad's WY cowboy. I too like the basket stamped border. You've got a lot of time in those. The basket stamp just running under the frame bugs me a little though. Perhaps a second camo border facing in next to the frame? Ya could move the width of the border in some so you wouldn't drive yourself crazy trying to basket stamp in the smaller area. Really like the knife too. Very remiscent of an old design of mine I use to call The Viejo. The Viejo eventually over time morphed into my Gordo and Ranchero.

Ah, that's a good idea using another border. I also just got a much smaller basket weave stamp that I will is to make the borders from now on- I think that will look a lot better than using the bigger stamp. Thank you for letting me use your pattern on that knife- my friend I have it to really loved it!

Be careful with those little basket stamps. Harder for me to keep them lined up straight.

I don't necessarily agree with this. The wood frame on top of the basket weave looks good to me...But not saying a second border would look bad either.
