I picked up a Buck Packlite Skinner today for my son-in-law as part of his Christmas from me. He has expressed a desire to teach his oldest son (my grandson) some basic skills and his collection of sorry hunting knives would have been considered lousy by most of us on this board. Since I had already purchased other items for him for Christmas, I was not going to spend a lot for a knife but I wanted something of quality. I bought the Buck hoping that it would give him and my grandson many years of good service.
Did I make a good choice?
Anyone already have some experience with this knife?

The Packlite is a great choice, You can get about 15 ft of 550 crod and weave it into the skeleton handle. it makes a good survival tool while in the field. Check out different ways on YouTube.
