That is spitting image of a govt contract Mann 1944 head I just rehung, that handle length and shape identical to the one it came with (minus the screws and nails sticking out the top of the eye), right down to the remnants of green paint on the haft.

Nice present, great shape all around!

Thank you. I lucked out on the handle; just one long galvanized nail to pull. It looks like there was green paint or enamel on the head, too.

Yup! Though ours still has all the green on the handle. I did have to re-do the hang, though. It was pretty loosened up.
