Christmas present

Hi,

I have a buddy I'm thinking of getting an Esee for Christmas. Here are the issues:

#1 he loves knives but he's a family guy, so he wouldn't spend the money on good knives himself.

#2 I have a #3 and IZULA, so if I get him one of those we'll be like twins and the guys at work will ridicule us. (although we have the same guns and they're pretty quiet about that.)

#3 if I get him anything other than that there is a good chance it'll be under my tree at Christmas.

#4 he's Irish so a green one is a possibility but that'll just encourage him to drink while admiring it, am I responsible for his injuries?

1) Well if he won't get himself a good blade it'd be good of you to get him one.
2) Get him a knife that is the size he will find the most useful for what he does/needs. Who cares about the rest.
3) Is he going to give it back to you or get the same thing? Does this really matter? I guess I'm having a hard time deciphering this. Sorry.
4) Tell him not to drink, it's just a bad idea all around.

Sorry for the confusion Jump. I mean if I don't have it already I'll just keep it for myself. Kind of like Valentines day candy you buy too soon, you have to go get a fresh box......
 
I think you should get him a 4 so you'll have to get one after he tells you how awesome it is. :D
 
that's right, who cares, I showed my izula off at work and two other guys bought one.....
 
First off you really shouldn't give a damn what other people think. Get him the knife or knives that you think he'll get the most use out of, a ESEE 3 MIL or 4 both make for great all round blade.
 
which of your does he like the best?
I'd say either an izula II or a 4 - but there's nothing wrong with getting him a 3. (and yourself a 4 with a set of Dale's aftermarket scales)

It's got a bottle opener, not to encourage drinking, but...

Or go with the Eskabar, it's affordable.

That's mighty nice of you.. must be nice having a friend like yourself!

And like a few have already stated.. who cares what others think.. you are obviously a great friend.
