I believe that most everyone knows that Mrs. Martino is providing some outstanding deals on HI products. All of the items are made in Nepal and though most are familiar, some are not seen on this side of the world that often. She offers hand made hats similar to the one advertised last week with the flags on the sides and a Mohawk hair-do on top. Wild? Yes. Campy? Yes. Warm? Dern right! Fun? Absolutely! You should see the looks I get wearing mine around town. I could have sold it several times today. If I was single and 23 once again, I'd be picking up the chicks like crazy. They do seem to like it! It is one cozy little hat and the wind does not go through being fleece lined.

Khukuri are HI's bread and butter and the only reason we all get together on the forum. There are many different kuks in many different sizes and for many different pocket books. Plain and simple to outlandishly fancy. HI's got'em all. Can't afford a full sized kuk? Get one of her little kuk hat pins that say Nepal on them. Very well constructed, they are. To ho-hum for you? How about a Kothimoda, then? I got one of those, too and I'll bet you could treat yourself to one as well.
[/IMG] How about this little jewel? Pretty cool in my book. Notice the kuk is sticking out of the chape a bit? Although the chape throat is pinched slightly to keep the kuk from falling out and getting lost, it's fully shaped and could be removed. The chape or sheath is not cast! Look closely again and you'll see that the details are of intricately wound silver wires. This is one beautiful piece of hand craftsmanship if ever I've seen any.
Both of these items and the little kagas katne letter openers are delightful "stocking stuffers" that won't set you back an arm and a leg. Christmas is coming and you're running out of time, so get with Mrs. Martino ASAP and latch on to one or more of these small treasures before they're all gone. Christmas presents to yourself aren't so much fun to get after the first of the year, you know. Enjoy.
