...Slashing through the Snow

Nice grab!

It looks almost identical to the Halloween Falcata by Arjune that I snagged. It should be perfect for slashing through the middle ball of a fresh snowman or the top ball of a frozen snowman.

This is a heavy weapon compared to some of the lighter HI swords. It takes quite a bit of strength to cause the sword to change directions mid swing - and changing direction would not be it's intended use. My take is that the Falcata was designed to go through objects that typically stuff doesn't go through.

The balance on mine is 4 1/4-5 inches in front of the guard and it hits very hard. If you wanted a weapon that would take out a heaily armored opponent or would clear a space around you in a crowd, this would be it.

Thank you for the help, Karda

Thanks Bric! 3.3 lbs is going to be interesting. Really looking forward to this. I've wanted one for a while, despite a few misgivings about their average weight, because the length,"umbrella handle" and that lovely shape gives me confidence in how she's gonna handle:cool:

The Falcata arrived yesterday. A beautiful beast. HI has a new star in Arjun Kami. The work on this massive, complex blade is wonderful. A real piece of Art. More details & pix later, maybe during a lull in the holiday maddness:)

Nice Kumar Karda, much lighter handle than i expected
Two small criticisms: it is only sharp on the forward half of the edge, and there are some strange scratches around the diamond that holds the handle on the tang

Thanks and happy new yars
