In our family, whenever anyone comes home for any reason, we inevitably end up exercising our trigger fingers. Due to a family emergency (we came close to losing my wife, but she is doing much better and is on the road to recovery), my son got emergency leave from the navy to come home for a visit, and his two boys were dropped off by their mother for a few days. Since his boys don't get to do any shooting (their mother is not exactly pro-gun) they always enjoy these visits. We went to our traditional spot in the Sierra foothills, in an area that overlooks the lower part of the canyon of the Kings River (just below Kings Canyon NP). Here are a few pictures of them having a good time:
Here's our shooting spot (the hill behind is much larger than it appears in the picture, it is a good backstop). And note all the mistletoe in the trees, I brought some home for the holidays.
This is a nice area, this is looking toward the Kings River:
And on the way out we could see the blanket of haze/fog over the valley:
We all had a good time. And more than one of them went home with a bruised shoulder (my middle son went with us, and he put a lot of rounds through his M44).
