Christmas Surprise - Exceptional Work by Ray Laconico

This morning my wife surprised me with a special package. I did not see it coming. She, my brother, and Ray collaborated to pull this off. The design - size, style, type of wood - was the result of a number of phone calls and emails between them, which she kept secret (although I did hear my daughter tell my wife a couple of times that uncle John had called). My brother donated the wood. And Ray fit it into his busy schedule on short notice.

This is impeccable - very clean, very precise, exceptional fit and finish. CPM154 blade, Ti liners, Macassar Ebony scales.

I like it a lot. The Sebenza has just been knocked out of my pocket.

The light reflections made it difficult for me to get a good picture of the blade finish.

Sweet folder i've admired Ray's folders for a while now and that ones a beauty. The Macassar handles are very nice congratulations. That's one nice Xmas present.

Smoking !!

That knife ( and the wife ) are keepers for sure. I can easily see that making the Seb play 2nd fiddle. Ray's work is simple and clean. All of what you need and none of what you don't.

What a great Christmas present.

Hi Don -

Very nice gift!

I admire Mr. Laconico's knife designs - maybe this year I will get to see on in person.

Congratulations on getting a fine new knife, and thank you for the pictures.

best regards -

Sigh! Always got to be a naysayer in the crowd. To me, it looks like this beautiful knife is very slightly canted to one side, due to the irregular surface it is resting on. This may give the illusion of an off centered blade. As for myself, I don't usually like wooden slabs on folders, but this knife is an exception! You are one lucky guy, to have such thoughtful and generous people in your life!! Best wishes for the holidays!

Holy Moly! That's beautiful! Congrats to you and kudos to your wife, brother and Ray!

WOW,   ...great work Ray,

...that one reminds me of the clean lines of some of the high dollar Bob Dozier Folders.

Super nice folder. I sure love his work.

What makes it doubly nice is that your wife got it for you!

Isn't the blade slightly off center?

Like the others have said it's most likey the angle or pic.
Anyway awesome knife, and you are a lucky man to have a wife like that.
