I posted elsewhere about what I was going to do this morning when my son and I opened our gifts, but can't seem to locate it so I am making it a new thread, and who knows, maybe some of you can post about a surprise you got this Christmas.
So, I got my son a couple of knives this Christmas, he is 24 btw and a knifenut like his dad. The knives were a ZT0200 and a JYDII Composite blade. I also had a foldover deep carry clip made for the JYD by STR, who btw, got it out to me so that I would have it for this Christmas surprise!:thumbup: As far as carrying knives my son is a lot like me in that he does not like to have the knife sticking out of his pocket.
Anyway, I had him to open up his first gift which consisted of some Miltec and some Flitz Stainless Polish. Next came the ZT0200, which he really, and I mean REALLY liked. Then came the JYDII Composite. Since I gave him a Tyrade back on his birthday, he has wanted more of the composites, so he was really overjoyed with it. He sat and played with it for a few minutes , tried it out in his pocket and then made the comment that it just had too much knife sticking out of the pocket, and how a foldover clip, with the same design, would be really nice. He mentioned that he may get one made later on when he had the extra cash..very frugal my son is
, I thensaid "oh yeah, here's another present, I almost forgot about it." He sat down and unwrapped it and out came the STR JYD foldover clip, only I wrapped it in bubble wrap and you couldn't see what it was. But as he began to unwrap it his eyes got wide and he begin to smile and when finally done that smile was ear to ear!, and I was one happy dad. I broke out the torx set and he proceeded to change it over and it has been in his pocket ever since.
Just to see his face was worth it all!:thumbup::thumbup:
