Christmas surprises?

There were some great pics posted of the generous gifts received through the Jk gift exchange. Personally I am very grateful for my gift and will remember where it came from every time I use it. I'm sure there were a few of you here who managed to slip under the radar and land on the "Nice List" like I did. Did anyone just completely take you by surprise with a gift? My in-laws usually get me a $25 - $50 gift card to Bass Pro which is always a good gift. Imagine my surprise this year when they handed me a box that obviously had more than a gift card. The surprise turned to near shock when I found this inside:

Nice, I had to sell my 450 dang it.
Oh well, I couldn't flip it due to my weak fingers, but the few times I did before getting CIDP it sure was sweet 'n smooth.

No presents this year except a Texas Roadhouse gift card from a friend. We just bought for the grandkids. Next year will be better, we will have a bit more money with the house being paid off.

A bracelet made by Fred Perrin, it's one of three pieces of jewellery I will actually wear, one of those being my wedding ring. Was pretty excited and even more excited when it fit perfectly.

My wife and I are FINALLY getting over bad colds, so tomorrow will be Christmas with our four grandkids. Looking forward to distributing the loot and hanging with family!

Jeff,
Glad you and the Mrs are feeling better. Tomorrow sounds like a fun day. Hope you have a Merry (and healthy) Christmas.

That's a nice looking piece. Is that Fred "La Griffe" Perrin?

Yes sir I own one of his knives currently and so my wife got this for me, came a little after Christmas but I guess I'll let it slide[emoji2].

I am not much on jewelry, but that is a nice piece and a great heritage. Cool.

Fishiker - nice - is that your first ZT?

I am a bit of a ZT fan myself - the 450 is a great one! It flips beautifully and is well made, as is anything that comes out of Tualatin.

I did get a surprise knife - no pictures yet, but a good friend gave me a beautiful EKA W12 - a very interesting Swedish knife with a full tang and a handle scale that is one piece bubinga wood, wrapping all the way around and under the tang, but leaving the tang exposed on top - as I said, interesting.

I used knifecenter's pictures - here is a link to the knife on their site since they are a forum supporting dealer -

I also received a kit-knife from Japan from a friend that lives in Kobe; I might have to add completing that kit to the "knife projects" thread as I get time to work at it. It also is a very interesting knife.

I also received a FPV drone from another friend - having a few problems with it out of box but the company is being very responsive and are helping - I hope to have some overhead drone shots of the house and possibly some hiking / campfire drone shots. If I can get it going to my satisfaction, it'll come to a gathering.

best

I really like that EKA. My most carried knife throughout my teenage years was a Little Swede.

Sadly the 450 is not my first ZT, somewhere along the way I was lured into their web of quality/price. For years my EDC rotation was a Sebenza and or Farmer and I was very content. That changed when I picked up a ZT for the first time. I am now back to a rotation of folders that includes several ZTs and a JK.

My surprises were the 2016 Traditional Forum knife(thanks again to GotSteel) and the Case Carhartt Back Pocket, thank you grunt and Todd.:)
