What is it about Christmas that brings the thieves out? Dec. 20 my shop was broken into, 3 knives, bose radio, ruger 10-22, and 2 grinders gone. About 5 years ago my shop (in a different location) was broken into around Christmas, just lost 1 Bowie that time (as far as I know).

So if anyone out there see's a Lamey 10" Camp knife with green micarta, Lamey 10" Camp knife with red cord wrap, or Lamey 7" Cleaver in Ironwood please call me

Matt,

I'm sorry to hear about this. I hope they turn up somewhere and you can find the person or persons that did this. It sounds like someone knew what they were aiming for.

All the best.

That sucks, plain and simple. What did your local law enforcement have to say about the 10/22?

Let's hope the thieves are stupid enough to try to sell their ill-gotten gains on eBbay.

Head to the nearest big flea market, now days, pawn shops have to see ID and record pawns. Flea markets are where a lot of stolen merchandise is sold. They can sell to the dealers there to get a quick buck. But you might get your stuff back.

Good Luck.
Jim

That's lousy but it's unfortunately a sign of the times. I hope your local law enforcement can find the perpetrators and get your property back. Good luck.

I hope you get your knives back, Matt. People who do that ought to know the hard way just how sharp your knives are......:grumpy:

sorry to hear that matt.....do you have any pics of dimensions of the knives so we can keep an eye out for them....ryan

Still check the pawn shops. Some owners are not as reputable or reliable at checking ID and getting a history on items.

That really blows - very sorry to hear. Hope he gets his just reward.

Roger

im doubtfull i will recover anything, but i will check the pawn shops in the area (which i do anyway for good deals on guns), and the flea market is a good idea... there is a local one just down the road i will start checking next week.

Local L/E didnt really say/do much but take a report... not really much they can do I guess.

Funny thing is Im pretty sure i missed them by about an hour. Ive since changed locks, boarded up a few big windows and next week will be calling ADT or a similar alarm system company.

Sorry to hear this matt but i can sympathize with you. about a year ago i had 3 billets of some mosaic damascus i had made at a friends shop stolen from me.

That is an awful thing. It's why I don't keep anything valuable in the shop plus my dog has access to the shop. If he hears anything at night he can get there. I suggest getting a dog if you don't already have one.
I hope the thieves realize the value of those knives and try to sell it so you might catch them. It's likely they don't know their value if they're not into custom knives and most thugs aren't.

Bastards. The Bose and Ruger have serial numbers that can be traced. probably the grinders also. Hope your things get recovered. Also hope your insurance covers at least some of the loss.

I'm very sorry to hear that Matt, hope you're able to get back up and running quickly.

that totally sucks, I'm sorry to hear about that one Matt. Props on the alarm system thing though, I've used mine a couple times:rolleyes: But bastards get caught, and that's the main thing.
