Something I read that really struck home with me.
This is a Christmas pledge, from "Unplugging the Christmas Machine" by Jo
Robinson and Jean C Stacheli:

"Believing in the beauty and simplicity of Christmas, I commit myself to the
following:
(1) to remember those people who truly need my gifts
(2) to express my love for family and friends in more direct ways than presents
(3) to rededicate myself to the spiritual growth of my family
(4) to examine my holiday activities in the light of the true spirit of
Christmas
(5) to initiate one act of peacemaking within my circle of family and friends"

I really do believe each one of these is a better way of celebrating Christmas,
I share this with all of you, my new found freinds of the Bladeforums.

It is a shame that more people don't feel this way. Christmas has just become way too commercial for our own good.:)

We've become too commercial for Christmas's good.

We've become too 'fair' to celebrate Christmas, lest we offend someone.

You know, Pappy, Winter's the time to wake that empy pocket of space in the heart. We are humbled and fill it with wonder and faith, grateful for our family and friends.

People pray at this time of year, just because, because they want to, because they need to. For some reason, this is getting twisted around and a few School Districts across the US are removing mention of Christmas from the Season's celebration.

Yeah it's easy to lose sight of what this holdays about. Too bad to see it removed from the schools. Really like your thoughts Cy, will try to incorporate them myself.
Merry Christmas to you and the rest of the Cantina!:)

Haven't heard the "Holiday Festival" one. They say Merry Christmas, don't know whether they're supposed to or not.
