Tis the season to deck the halls and put up the tree.

But please be careful!

Select a fresh tree.

Keep it watered.

Inspect light strings carefully and just throw away any that are even questionable.

And keep the tree away from lamps, heaters, appliances of all sorts.

HERE is the reason why.
 
Reminds me of the time we tried to "recycle" the tree by burning it in the fireplace. It would have worked OK, if I had opened the flue first...

Last winter, I took our tree out and burned it in the chiminea... It burned fast and hot! Pine needles wrapped in wrapping paper is close to a perfect tinder...

Distance jumped across fire pit: 10 ft.
Alcohol consumed beforehand

Thank you for the heads up Gollnick , that was an astounding video....:eek:
I know pine burns like gas but never saw a tree ingite like that.
