Christy Knife Company

The Christy is a little number that is close to my heart. My old man was very fond of them, and he carried one the last 10 years of his life when his arthritis got bad enough that he had trouble opening his Case peanut. He gave me one when I was a kid, and I didn't really appreciate it until much later in life. I'll still carry one now and then just for old time sake. By todays standards, it an outmoded piece of gear, kind of like packing an original Colt .25 for yuks. But the thin little blade will get razor sharp, and it's a kind of cool little thing.

Here's the old man's knife closed. You can see it's lost some blade over the years he used it.

New one on deck ready to go, with spare blade. Still made in U.S.A.

I have 2 that I've had and carried in pocket and on my keyring for over 30 years, Ed Halligan the designer of the original KISS was not the first to make a simple knife. The Christy knife is really as simplistic as it gets, even more simple than Ed' s version which he eventually sold to CRKT.
