I personally really dislike them. I think that they are a bit too flashy for my tastes. This is the main reason why I don't care my tenacious very often. It's also what is keeping me away from the para 2. Does anyone know of a good spray paint that won't discolor my jeans?

Get some Krylon metal enamel spray in the color you want. When the clip gets scratched, a 2 minutes to touch it up.

I don't like shiny clips or designs that draw attention to my knife. I have gone as far as to use a black "Marks-a-lot". Talk about easy to touch up!

Hey... I love anything that's easy! So does the spray paint wear like the paint that most manufacturers use? Or will it get all over my pants?

I don't mind shiny pocket clips. I don't feel the need to be high-speed low-drag super covert tactical carry 24/7 so I really couldn't care less if my pocket clips are shiny.

I don't mind having a very beautiful knife but I don't need the clip to attract attention to the fact that I'm carrying a knife at all. It's sad but around these parts (Northern Virginia/Washington D.C. Area) people have gotten out of the habit of carrying a knife of any type. There's almost a fight or flight instinct with them when I pull out a pocket knife to either cut or fix something around them. This area is really pretty strange.

Nevertheless, I really don't need to draw attention to the fact that I'm carrying a knife so the less flashy the clip the better IMHO.

Stone wash it.

I was walking the aisles at my local Sports Authority when a clerk came up to me and asked what kind of Spyderco I had. Seems he spotted the clip in my pocket and knew I had a knife. Since then I have gone back to carrying my blades IWB. I never had a problem with any knife(folder or fixed) being noticed when it's carried IWB. You can paint the clip but it might be better to just move the attachment point from your pocket to your waistband. As a bonus it frees up your pocket. If it's a small knife I just remove the clip and carry it loose in my pocket.

I don't care what color the clip is or what finish it has, as long as it looks nice and doesn't have a certain manufacturer'S lOGo absurdly laser etched into it. No one here seems to ever care that I'm carrying a knife, and plenty of folks don't even know it's attached to one, regardless of how shiny it is.

To me how it functions is more important. Some clips just suck. But I do pick a black clip for work as I have to wear black pants. Otherwise I don't worry to much about drawing attention to the knife. I have never had anyone see my clip and comment about the fact that I have a knife. Although I tend to look for clips and gun printing just because I carry both and I'm obsessed, at least with knifes. By the way the Para 2 clip is awesome.

I live more towards central Maryland (Frederick County) and feel the same way. Too many people here are likely to notice, and that is probably not going to be a good thing. Semi-Gloss black is as flashy a clip as I feel ok with.

In NYC if a cop sees the clip he takes the knife !! I have no use for a clip so I remove it. Are you sure it's "chrome" ?? I'd bet 301 stainless steel since that is used for springs .Cold rolled [work hardened ] it would be the perfect material !

Nay for me. But it is a very easy fix.

I sanded my PM2 clip with a medium grit paper, and then a scotch bright pad. Only takes a few minutes, and gives the clip a dull hand rubbed look.
