Does anyone know where to buy chromium oxide for making stropping compound (0.3-0.5 micron) in bulk?

Any tips is very appreciated :)

I've used chrome oxide purchased in a 1-lb. jar (dry powder form), found at a local lapidary/rock-polishing supplies outlet. It's worked well, when I've used it. I don't rely on it so much anymore; but that's just because I don't rely so much on stropping compounds in general, anymore.

I've had a green chromium oxide bar (like a big crayon) for years, got it maybe a decade ago or longer from Lee Valley Tools. Works fine on high carbon steels, but I rarely strop any more. Doesn't seem to make much difference on super steels with high carbide volumes (vanadium, chromium, niobium, etc.).

i have pure powder, fully spec'ed by the manufacturer, but it works well (fast cutting) only with the PTS method for me. inexpensive stuff from an arts supply shop, 2eur for 100g bag.
