Hello,
I just finished this one.
I call this pattern "Chrysanthemums" because of the little flower that one gets when two halves meet. I actually lean this pattern from Rodrigo S.
I remember I saw a picture of one of his knives in a Brasil show and thought "I can not believe he got flowers in the pattern!"... Althought I dont know how he calls it.
This is a very tight and small version of that pattern.
Handle is african blackwood and guard 420 ss.
Pin is german silver.
Hope you like it

WOW! That is a great pattern and a fine looking knife. I would really like to know how you did that one.
Cheers Keith

Thank you guaise!
Keith, thank you mate! I was hoping for someone to ask me that, its actually very simple, in theory...
Each bar is a W that is cut lengthwise and inverted, that is to say, putting in the middle what use to be the edges of the bar.
Essentially what you need to do is make the points of the W face the outside of the bar rather than the inside as they naturally do.
So instead of a fiery look you get a flowery look.
Was that clear enought?
Thanks for asking.

Hey Manuel, Thanks for the heads up  So let me get this right, its twisted after the cut and reweld on the Ws, clockwise and anticlockwise then restacked as a 6 bar, yeah?
Cheers Keith

Beautiful knife. Elegant lines. Fantastic pattern in the damascus!

Kind regards,

Jos

Exactly, after the last weld on the W and before the twist you make the cut and reweld the edges in the middle.
FYI this one is a 6 column W, with 16 rows, or U's.
Then I make my square rods for twisting that are 10x10 mm
Twist half the bars clockwise and half counterclockwise.
And weld to final weld.

Thank you all for your words, I'm really glad that you like it.

Cheers Manuel. Ya gotta give us a WIP sometime. Loving your work mate!
Cheers Keith
