Well that happens to be 25 mins away from me.

Paper Ad says:

"Meet Chuck Buck,
Meet the world-famous knife maker Chuck Buck and get a new knife personally signed."

So does Chuck bring signed knives that you can buy? Or can you take one of your new knives with you and get it signed? Huummh, I don't know which one I'd have him sign if he's set up to actually etch a knife on site.

It will be very interesting to meet the man since I've spent a goodly amount of money on his knives.

hee hee you lucky dog you ! you are in for a treat!
yes he carryes a small compressed air powered engraver that works like a champ!
you can bring any knife .. if it is not a buck he will wright improved by chuck buck!
hay call me tonite...

Freeport Maine, Home of LL Beane. Chuck Buck is there on the 27th & 28th. Well, the Expo is both days. I'll have to check to see how they have his time scheduled. I doubt he'll be doing it 'allllllll daaaaayyyy long' both days.

You could run out to Wal-Mart/K-Mart and get a couple 110's and have him sign them... :)

I don't have an LL Bean catalog...Are their 110's as reasonable as the discount giants???

Awesome, well i wish i could have had mine there to sign,I did manage to get a great deal on a Idaho stamped buck 110 and a nice black mini buck lite for $19.99 ,In the outlet store.LOL:thumbup:

In Tulsa, once the crowd thinned out, I had a nice talk with Chuck and Bucks BP reps. I wish I had had some BCCI info. as several folks that had Buck "collections" and brought some by to be signed did not know a collectors club existed. One gentlemen brought in several first factory issue date stag handle knives to be signed........I asked if he had any kids and if not, would he consider adopting me............ 300bucks.

Looks like I'll have to call to find out the times for Chuck.

Checked online and they have the standard 110 for $35 so they are trying to compete on price to a degree. They also have some exclusives that are interesting: A 102 & 105 with stacked leather handles (a brown leather sheath that is stamped LL Bean $70 & $80). Also, an Alpha Dorado w/ 154cm & elk for $85. You must keep in mind that LL Bean thinks of itself as a premium outdoor retailer.

I've decide to take my two Jigged Buffalo 110s with mirror finished 420hc blades for tattooing. I’ll take my camera and ask Chuck for a picture of both of us holding those two beauties.

I wish I had had some BCCI info. as several folks that had Buck "collections" and brought some by to be signed did not know a collectors club existed.

I’ll also print off 50 copies of the BCCI registration form and ask if I can leave with them for the week-end. I think the Buck people would be interested in promoting the club.

It’s going to be interesting.

"yes , my wife did said you looked cute and cuddly in the picts from post falls! "

Aah, they are just attracted to those few little hairs that grow curlyQ in the front middle of my bald noggin.......they try to rub'em off.
Sorta like rubbin a red-hair kid for luck.....300

I ate a lobster at the South Freeport wharf a few weeks back. It's a shame my timing couldn't have been a little better. Darn the luck...

Chuck Buck is scheduled from 9-5pm. That a long day. I may try to be there at 9am in the morning. There is a Hurricane coming on Sunday (to Maine :grumpy: geez) so he may get outta here early so....

I decided to take a 100th Anniversary 110 (mirror finish from custom shop) and Final Production 111 (the one with the scroll work on the bolsters) and see if he'll sign. I'll also pick up a 110 at LL Bean for a signature. It should be fun.

I intend to talk with him if possible. I'll thank him for the CS 112s and ask that D2 be considered as an add'l blade option for the 110.

Any comments, requests you guys want to me to give Chuck if I get the chance?

Got to LL Bean around 9:30. It was slow so I got to talk to Chuck for a good while. He is a fine Gentleman...very easy to talk too.

I thanked him for the decision to do a CS112 and that I'd ordered 4 and was excited to get them in Nov. I also asked if he and his managers would concider adding D2 as a 110 option. He seemed to think that would be an easy thing to do and seemed to like the idea. Also, asked if they'd concider a CS119. Again, very accomidating to the idea.

I picked up a 154CM Alpha, Elk Dorada, and a 110 for his signature as well as got him to sign my 100th Ann. & Final Prod. 111. (pict).

I enjoyed meeting and talking to Chuck. If you Buck guys get a chance to shake his hand and talk a bit with him, you should first chance.

Note on the BG-42: Chuck didn't know anything about a Gov. limitation on the purchase of the metal. I think he thinks its a little on the brittle side and went to S30V.

well i am glad you got to meet him!
wow ... i would love to say howdy again to him..
did you ask him about his matched pair of 57 shoe box chevys?
yep the grand old man of knives speaks hot rod also!!!
AND you should see the dang wild turkeys that he feeds in his yard!!!
all i could think was yumm!

Is he there on Sunday, too? Not clear on whether you're saying he may try to get out of Portland early on Saturday or whether you're referring to Sunday. (Guessing it was Sat. only?)

You are one lucky guy for sure,I wish we went this weekend sooooooooo bad.

He's supposed to be there 9-5 on Sunday as well. But I'd call the Sporting Goods Department and verify before I'd drive to far.

I really hope he likes the D2 blade option idea and the CS119 thought too.
