I got an opportunity to drive 100 miles to the Bass Pro Shop in Rancho Cucamunga, Ca. I got there 3 hours before Chuck was to show up. I looked around and found a ton of fishing gear I needed and still had time to wait for the arrival of Chuck. He showed up 20 min. early, to which I was happy, cause I was starting to get tired. I introduced myself and we talked for about 10 min. while he signed several of my knives. If you followed the tread on the 1996 Factory Experiment 119, I recieved conformation that the signature on the COA was in fact Chuck Bucks. We laughed about the fact that he said he signed so many of those COA his hand hurt and his signature fell apart. He signed my Factory Experiment 119 and said it looked like it was holding up well (the handles would split).

This is a picture of Chuck checking out the Buck knives display ( typically the off shore knives on the shelf)

Chuck is the nicest guy I think I have ever met, just a good hearted guy. You don't find that very often. As I was getting ready to walk away he asked me if I was going to make the 2013 blade show. I told him I was working on the old lady already. We parted with him giving me a few lapel pins, which I gave to my girls( a 110, 119 and an ax).

The wife and I got there shortly after 5:00 pm. it was great to meet Chuck and Ron spent about 1/2 hour talking Bucks. No I really need to get up tp Idaho and see the factory...took this knife

CB is scheduled to be at a large Outdoors store in my area early next month.
I thought.... How is he going to sign a knife?
Your post answered my question, Electric etcher?

+1 Couldn't agree more. Had the pleasure of meeting Chuck at the Shenandoah Valley Knife Show earlier this year, (as well as a bunch of the wonderful members and officers of the BCCI) and found him to be a truly down to earth, sincere gentleman.

Mr. Buck spoke at a men's game dinner in our neck of the woods three or four years ago. Couldn't agree more: one of the nicest, humblest persons you will ever meet.

I've visited with CB several times at the BassPro in Grapevine TX. I usually attend their Hunters Extravaganza in August and purchase my annual allotment of Buck knives. I drive around 100 miles each way to attend the show. This year the store told me they weren't going to have any vender booths and that Buck would not be represented. When they are there they have a larger selection of knives than BP normally carries. This year I decided that I'd forgo my trek and order from the custom shop and ask CB to sign it before it was shipped. I ordered a 110 with mirror polished blade, elk slabs, nickle silver bolsters, no rivets, and personalized with my initials. Can't wait to get it. Hope to figure out how to get a good photo to post.

Last year I was able to visit the factory in Post Falls. What an experience! CB signed the 4 knives while I toured the factory and personally delivered them to me in the lobby. I talked to him for 10 minutes or so, told him I was from Texas (duh), he asked to meet my wife and we then talked for 10 + more minutes. Since I had the opportunity to meet him several times before at the BP, I knew what he was like, but my wife was really impressed the he would come down and spend so much time with us. Just a "good ol' boy"!

I also had the opportunity to visit with Joe, I think he le the tour that day...If I remember correctly.

I got to meet Chuck last year at the central CA BP. When you guys said he was going to the So Cal BP I was hopeing he would also visit up this way, :( no luck! He is one heck of a guy. Thanks for posting your photo's.

I was kind of like a kid on Christmas, grinning fromear to ear. Its not to often I get to meet the man, the myth, the legend. I have been collecting Buck knives for 15 years and this was my first time meeting any of the Buck family. I had to drive 100 miles each way but it was well worth it...

And a legend he is,the closest i've got to meeting him was just missing him in Maine ,I spoke with an employee of the hunting store that saids he meets folks all the time from different companies they deal with,And Chuck Buck was the nicest person he said he ever met ,he basically echoed what you folks are saying that met him.I would love to meet him someday, along with C.J and Joe Houser, gotta meet the man that takes a licking and lkeeps on ticking.

Hi mb -

Awesome - thanks for posting your pictures and story.

We have a Bass Pro opening up here in the Peoria Illinois area in a month or so, and I surely hope that Mr. Buck will visit our area.

When he does these visits, are they two-day visits, or just one day events?

Thanks again for the pictures -

best regards -
