I saw on your site how you manipulated your leatherman like a Balisong. I dont want to screw mine up so I aam asking first. How do you loosen it up? I was going to try like Clay said to loosen Balisong pins but didnt want to mess it up.

Thanks
Sean

I go to a cooperative dealer and try out every one they have. You need a dealer who gets 'em in boxes, not on blister packs, obviously. I select ones that are already a bit loose. Then, I clean the factory lube out of the joints using gun cleaning solvent. Then, I just go to it (I want no oil in the joints at this point so that they will wear, in fact you might even put some polising compound into the joints.). They start out very stiff, but they do break in. Then, after they get nice, I lubricate 'em either with Tettragun or MilTec-1.

Thanks for the help. You and everyone else on here are so helpful.

I am wondering if you or anyone else knows if there are any household products that break down grease? I dont have the time right now to go looking for the gun stuff, so I am just hoping that there are some home remedies.

thanks
