Hello, Just finished this one up this morning (except the little ding on the handle where I dropped it:mad:)
4" chute style blade of 1/8" saw blade stock, brass fittings, and ebony fitted with a weep hole onto a 3" stub tang.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks for looking.

Regards, Ian

Very nice knife and workmanship, I make a few chutes and they don't get the respect that should, again nice work.

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from on that one Keith.
After all the hours I've spent studying (Loveless) chute knives, I should know better:rolleyes:
I'm not really sure why I made it 4"
Also a little annoyed with myself now as well:(
Oh well, we live and hopefully learn;)

Cheers for pointing it out.

My simple mind has just figured it out!
It was made from an old blank of a 4" version I made for someone about 2 years ago, but until you pointed it out I thought nothing of it. Now I'm annoyed I didnt make it 4 1/2". It would have looked far better.
I worry about my brain sometimes.
A case of the light is on but the lighthouse keeper has rowed home.

Not to worry..it's still a great looking knife..though don't take it back to your bench now and try to get an extra 1/2" out of it...:D
On a side note I just received one of Ian's knives this past week and it's definitely better in hand.

I think it's super cute!
has it been sold?

Cheers, I'm also with Keith on the length!
I find that sometimes I overlook the obvious until someone kindly points it out to me. Looking at it now, 4 1/2" would have looked far better.
Thats why I enjoy posting my work on forums.
The more critical people are, hopefully the better I become!
Thank you all for your input.:D
