"Our Mission:

When people think of the CIA, they think of people lurking around in trenchcoats, sending messages in code, and using cool tools to do their job. Well, to some extent that's true, but it's not the whole story. The Central Intelligence Agency's job is to help the President, the National Security Council, and all other government officials who make and carry out US national security policy. We do this in two ways:

1. We give accurate and timely intelligence (or information) on foreign threats to our security.

2. We conduct counterintelligence or other special activities relating to foreign intelligence and national security when the President asks us to."

Perhaps it is years of exposure to advertising, but that eagle looks as if he is sticking out of a bucket of chicken. so to speak. I guess that is a sheild? BAD illustrator! Bad! :D

I know a couple of high school kids who could have done a better job with the graphics on that website. What ARE those red and white squiggles?

As far as "A CIA Website for Kids" - sure, why not? The agency's credibility isn't what it used to be these days - ;) - so they might as well start their 'educational' efforts with that portion of the populace that also writes letters to Santa Claus. ;)

You realize that by going there, now the government knows every single file on your computer, including passwords, bank information, and porn? Heck, probably just reading this thread with the link of it tells them everything about yourself.

OH CRAP! BYE!

I'm laughing so hard I can hardly type. That's EXACTLY what I thought when I saw it. From that shot, it looks like a bunch of kids are carrying a giant bucket of chicken on their shoulders. The bird sticking his head out approves of the whole thing. Positive message, like the smiling pig on the signs for rib joints. The critter wants you to eat him. (I've been in advertising for years... )
Oh no- now I'm going to be 'disappeared' for dissing the CIA's kiddie site...

Maybe there's been a merger and it's the new logo for the KFCIA? Dunno.

But hey, indoctrinate 'em early. For some reason it reminds me of a buddy's t-shirt. It looks like a DARE shirt, but below the D.A.R.E. logo it reads something like 'I narced on my parents and all I got was this lousy t-shirt.'

Bad illustration; I thought the natives were roasting the eagle in a large pot. The only thing missing is Bugs Bunny adding some sliced carrot.

A CIA website for kids is pretty scary. Let me know when they form a CIA Youth League.

It's OK though, Planterz. Whenever I log onto the Internet, I make certain that I wear my tinfoil hat and put one on my computer as well!

Dave,
I was just joking, they didn't ask, and they probably won't take my suggestion to get rid of the bird in the KFC bucket logo on their site. Tey probably paid some marketing weenie some large amount to generate that garbage.
As to Max, I can't say why you can't corner him on your question. He is a pretty smart cookie on most things, huh?
Here's a page that has some information of the origins of the word redneck:
http://www.sierratimes.com/02/02/19/carlson.htm
There are other links to find.
I've got friends and relatives that consider themselves rednecks (I'm from Texas) and most of them are really great, kind people. Like any group, though, there are some I don't agree with, some I just put up with, and some I avoid.

The graphic appears to have been cropped. Representing the state of our freedoms. Also note it is leaning heavily to the right and is raising a hand(?) in a threatening manner....like he is gonna smack 'em....
hold on...I hear 'copters....gotta go.
Will Smith and Tommy Lee are coming up the drive and those are NOT Earth knives!

The CIA for kids ain't half bad considering the dyspepsic bird on the VA website. Yes boys and girls, you can learn cool facts about veterans!
No, they won't help your sick puppy....Does anyone here know about Atomic Medicine, Agent Orange....depleted uranium?

howdy howie,
nice link on the red neck info but not quite what i had in mind or learned after i moved to WV from Cresson Texas,{were the move 'pure contry" was filmed at in part} :D
the term red neck was used to describe the hard core strikeing coal miners who used a red bandana to inducate which side of a strikc in southern west va they were on.. this strike got perity nasty and federal troups fired on the hard core strikers who had a "red neck'cerkichef" on ... so basicly it was a union coal miners term to show standing up with your brothers even if you get shot at by the army. come to think of it it is still not to far of the mark is it ? yours dave
