Cicada Mohican Hike

I met up with a few Ohio guys at Mohican State Forest. They had a sweet camp area and it was nice to meet some new guys.

I didnt take many pics but the highlight was the Cicadas where out in force.

Wild edibles are everywhere

Had a patient come in a clinic I worked at needing something to help her sleep. She'd just moved to the area and had never been around cicadas and they were in the trees outside her bedroom window.

I enjoy the female cicada roasted in sesame oil and dipped in a sweet chili sauce. Lots of them around my parts. I get out the circular saw and they dive bomb me. Makes them easier to collect.

These are great. Mah woman even has some of the more vibrant ones as ornaments. The sound they make is brilliant too me.
