Recently several unboxed serial numbered Schrade trappers in jigged bone and marked "Schrade Walden N.Y. U.S.A." have changed hands on eBay. They are said to be Cigar-Box Classics for which the cigar-box packaging was not completed prior to Schrade's demise. They looked to be very nice knives.

Does anyone have any further information or first-hand observations about these knives?

The ones I have seen are very nice I got the ones I have out of a wooden flat box at Schrade. I should have taken more. Just dandy. I hope these are as nice. I hope this helps. LT

I have a trapper and a stockman with the cigar boxes. The blades appear to be stainless although they are not marked as such. The peachseed jigged bone is as nice as I've ever seen. Fit and finish is excellent. No blade rubbing that I can find. The walk and talk on the trapper is a little lazy but acceptable.

Thanks for the information!

I wonder how many of the peach seed jigged bone trappers failed to make it into the cigar-box packaging. Collector interest, maybe... But I'm thinking one would be a fine EDC. They may be a pocketful, but the large trapper is for sure a very useful pattern.

I have a trapper. The blades are stainless. It is absolutely gorgeous. Tight in every way. Excellent snap. BUY ONE, you will NOT be disapointed.

I have the small green bone stockman and the muskrat, 420 blades I believe, complete with the boxes. High quality knives!!! :D

The unboxed ones were either damaged in smokys flood problem (in the warehouse I believe) from last year, or ones that were left over that were never finished due to schrades demise.

The tan/orange, peachseed jigged ones were made later, the green ones came first.

You're right, Mike. I picked up two peachseed jigged bone trappers (unboxed) and I am most certainly NOT disappointed. Beautiful fit and finish. Shaving sharp on delivery!

One has become a favored EDC and the other set aside.
