After a bit of prodding from my wife, I've been on the lookout for a decent display box for my knives.

As a temporary solution, my local tobacconist supplied me with an empty cigar box which I lined with burgundy velvet. I managed to fit about half of my paltry collection inside the box . . but it looks pretty cool, so I thought I'd share a pic.

oh, and as long as we're having fun with photobucket, here's a pic of my nutty dog, Miles:

I see you have an Al Mar Shrike. That is one slick knife. Top quality fit and finish, super smooth action and just sharp as hell.

I've got all my knives in cigar boxes. When my kids were little, it was a cheap present for Dad to decorate a new knife box.

That looks to be one of the knifekits' folders. If thats what it is, how do you like it? I was thinking about ordering one to mess around with til i can another stilletto model knife i like.

I like it! One thing I have is an Oneida cutlery display for formal dinner silverware. Can anyone think of a reason this wouldn't work well? The lining is still in good shape and it has a plastic slide type lid.

Thanks for the replies!

Yeah, the Al Mar Shrike is a pretty sweet knife. Super sturdy and the micarta scales are a joy to hold.

The one on the right is a knife kits DDR3. Great knife. The blade looks longer than the handle when it's open. Slick opening - a flick of the thumb tip and it opens with a THWACK! I have the solid steel back spacer which I fileworked into a vine pattern with geometric patterned ends. The carbon fiber scales are sanded into a nice rounded shape and everything is polished to a pretty high finish. Definitely worth the $$ and the time. I want to pick up one of their new convertible models.

Yup, miles is a real dog. 3 month old jack russell terrier with what's known as a "broken coat" - which is why he's so fuzzy. A very goofy, high energy, loving dog . . probably the best dog in the world, if you ask me :)

Re the seiko - yeh, I like it - it has a nice stealth look to it without any brand markings.

Again, thanks for the comments. Thought you guys would get a kick out of the pics. Cheers!

Is that a Jack Russell? He looks just like my neighbors dog. Best frisbee dog in the world!
