Anyone have this knife; what are your thoughts? At 20 bucks shipped, it's cheap enough and seems like a good work knife. I'm wondering about its overall fit/finish, and I'm curious as to why the spine of the knife protrudes out the back, from the scales (see pic)

The spine is higher than the back because the knife is partially open.
It is a slipjoint, so the backspring moves up and down as the blade opens
or closes.

Thanks, Terry

V---I like to handle knives like that before I buy one. You can get a nice one or a clunker, if you order by mail.
That is the tension bar sticking up. That's how slippies work. The bar is flush when the knife is closed or open.

Ah that's why. I have not handled a slipjoint before; the closest thing I have to one is a SAK, where the spring mechanism is completely enclosed. I completely agree that a knife should be handled before being bought; unfortunately, hunting down a certain knife under a certain brand--locally--is not always practical.

I appreciate the responses

These are a great little knife. Light and easy to use. It will also take a wicked edge if you spend a little time on the ol' arkansas stone. I find myself carrying mine quite a bit, eventhough I have ALOT to choose from. Just my two cents. Good luck!

Good honest workman's knife in carbon.Comes well packaged and the fit&finish is efficient and good for the money, tough item and nice Old School aspect to it.
