I have had the pleasure of owning many knives over the years. I would not consider myself a collector of fine knives, mostly users and even some junk. I enjoy looking what others have in their drawers, and I thought I would empty mine out.
Going from left to right, working top to bottom.
- Benchmade Mini Rukus. Current weekend carry. Carry in my briefcase some days depending.
- Rinaldi Chimera custom. This is a great knife for the outdoor kitchen & utility. This was a gift from my wife when I graduated from college.
- Jim Sigg from Siggma blades. This is a pretty little custom knife made from a saw blade.
- Microtech LCC DA. This knife is pretty cool, but no longer one of my favorites. It might not be there much longer.
- Microtech UDT. This is a great little knife. I have never carried it, but I have opened a few letters with it.
- BM735 (green/black G10 Handles) Box above signed by Alan Elishewitz. It came that way for some reason and I just kept the box. This was an EDC for about seven years and I have hauled it all over the country. It has been a dependable friend over the years. It is now semi-retired.
- Gerber something-or-other fixed blade. I bought this in high school. Included for sentimental purposes.
- New Osbourne Rift. I bought this yesterday and I like it so far. We'll see how she does over the long haul.
- That blue skinny thing on the bottom row is a fishing knife. My wife bought that for me when we were in Germany. Solingen.
- Pick bone handle antique jack knife my uncle gave me a long time ago.
- Kershaw Random Task. Great knife, great steel. I think this is one of the best Kershaws ever made. This was an EDC for a few months.
- Remington (Cammilus?) Stockman. This is a great knife, but just a bit too big for a pocket knife I would carry. This was a gift from my father-in-law.
- Victorinox Farmer. I bought this in Switzerland on vacation with my wife.
- Wenger (Soldier?). I found this knife on the side of the road when I was living in Switzerland. Blade is stamped 71 for year, and alox scale has an unusual logo/symbol on the cross. I believe this to be an actual knife issued by the Swiss Military. It was an EDC for about a year or so. The alox swiss army knives are about the best made.
- Case bone trapper. Great knife.
- Boker Trapper. I took this one out of my pocket for the picture. It is my dress EDC, though it is a bit large.
- J.A. Henckel two blade congress in stag. My wife bought this one for me for our first Christmas. I love this knife and don't carry it much anymore. I have cleaned fish with it and have enjoyed owning it.
Well, there you have it. I left Leatherman tools out, as well as several others that would not cause anguish should they turn up missing.
Did I say the Ares was a great knife?
