citadel conversion to manual?

I really like the design of the large citadel but can't carry an auto & I wonder how smoothly it would open & close with the spring removed, does anyone have any thoughts on that?? Tx

The lack of a dentent might be a problem.

I figured the button lock is spring-loaded and would still hold the blade in place while closed, since the spring that snaps open the blade is a separate spring . . . ?
Of course now that I think of it, that might mean it couldn't be opened without first pressing the button, and that is not what I am shooting for. Hmmm.
