Just scored a Citadel 92mm for $120! It's in great shape and has the original box. The only issue is that the grips were hydodipped, and now the safety doesn't move, it just stays permanently off. Hopefully it's an easy fix, or at least a cheap fix, but I couldn't pass that up! Now I've got two Embassys, and Autonomy, and finally a Citadel!

Wow, nice pickup...what on earth possessed the previous owner to mutilate the scales with that...stuff?

Will Spyderco CS still work on this since it's out of production and restricted?

The coating might be the culprit, but the fit between the safety and the frame of my Citadel doesn't seem all that close, so something else may be blocking your safety. In any event, unless you feel confident of your ability to take it apart and put it back together, your best bet would probably be to find a competent "knife mechanic" who is willing to work on autos and send it to them.

As for Spyderco, they will only work on autos sent to them by properly "credentialed" LEO's and military owners and, even for those, might not work on one that has been modified.

Try flushing it with lighter fluid then use a air hose of you got one or canned air the kind you get for cleaning computers and blow all fluid out and put a tiny drop of oil at the safty. If this doesn't work I'd say you got 2 choices well 3

1 open her up and find out what's going on and fix
2 send it to The Hollow Grind and they will get you take. Care of ! (That should have been #1)
3 sell as is and let it be someone else's issue......I'll take it ...lol
