So I bought a Citizen 6850 about 15 years ago (maybe 18?), absolutely love this watch except for one thing. It's heavy! I do not like to wear it every day for a number of reasons; it's heavy, the metal band is either too loose or too tight. But, I still love it; it has worked flawlessly other than three battery changes since I bought it at the Navy Exchange as a promotion present to myself.
I stopped wearing watches about 2 years ago since I always carry a cell phone. I put a new battery in my 6850 the other day and wore it the next day; I realized how much I prefer being able to just glance at my wrist to get the time rather than pull my phone out of my pocket, activate it, and then stick it back in my pocket.
I'm now looking for something similar to my Citizen that has a rubber strap (the material ones never seem to work out as I sweat, a LOT. Maybe leather?). I do not want to have to wind it, yet I don't want the newest and greatest umpteen hundred dollar watch. I'd like to spend between $50-$150 on a lightly used watch that has an alarm function, is water proof (did I mention I sweat?), looks nice, kind of classy (as in: not a Timex Ironman, and I have the Citizen for 'dressy' wear).
Set my cdo (ocd is better when it's in alphabetical order) free and give me your advice!
Thanks,
Russel
