I have had this watch for over 10 years and have ZERO issues with it until today I was setting the day light savings time and when I returned it to normal mode it did it's usual rapid advance of the analog hands, but it never stopped and has been turning rapid advance (backwards) for a couple hours now! Buttons do not register, crown does change modes still, when crown is pulled out the second hand returns to "12" but it does not enter time set mode.

Watch is fully charged and has not been in "low charge indication mode" in forever as I keep it charged and wear it daily. Zero reset does not work either.

Has anyone ever dealt with this? I have a lifetime warranty from the jeweler I bought the watch from but the last time I sent it in (for a scratched crystal) it took forever to get it back, I think nearly two months! Also, it's Sunday night and I can't do anything until later this week anyways.

Might pose the question over at Watchuseek. I don't really mess around with newer tech watches, and don't have much of an idea what could be going on aside from a borked circuit or software loop.

Interesting. I never have heard of this happening. Many years and many Eco-Drive watches and I have had only one problem with the watch function.

I tried "all reset" but buttons did not register. As can be expected, while stuck in rapid advance it eventually wore the cap down, which then prompted the "charge" indicator to flash, but nothing would stop it. It just kept running in rapid advance backwards until it was fully dead, took nearly a full 6 hours which is a long time to be pulling on that cell, indicating what level of charge it was at.

I haven't yet spoke to the jeweler where it was purchased, will do that this weekend. I've had this 2003 edition watch since 2004, it's been rock solid every day through some serious use! Makes me a believer of the eco-drive for sure! Also being the titanium version I really don't want to scrap this watch. Will get it back up and running for sure, I just hope it's sooner than later. Feels funny having to wear my Seiko dive watch daily now.
