Howdy! My dad's pulsar has finally given out, and he wants a new watch. Being a bit of a gadget freak, he asked me, and I just have no experience with this. I prefer Seiko divers to pilot watches, and have a diver that has served me for many years. My dad, on the other hand, says they look boring and he wants to try the eco-drive mechanism. He looked and found the Nighthawk which has the moving slide-rule (sp?) and the funky 12/24 hr hands on the inside of the dial. He says he likes it (I personally think it looks too busy, and he's NOT a pilot so what the slide is going to do for him I'll never know), but he SAYS he likes it. Is he going to waste his money? I tried looking over at TimeZone, but couldn't find any reviews of this watch. Is that some kind of indication??? Any help would be welcome. I just don't want him to waste his money on a cruddy watch. Citizens are supposed to be pretty good, but I mean this one in particular. Thanks, again

Sincerely,
Anthony

I've had my Citizen Promaster "Ecozilla" Eco-Drive 300m Dive Watch for about a week now, and I LOVE it! It's gained a whopping 2 seconds in one week (measured via the Atomic Clock in Colorado).

There are some very favorable reviews of the Nighthawk at www.timezone.com

If he's getting farsighted with age he's likely to have difficulty reading some of those tiny scales without glasses, but he can see that for himself if he can see the watch in a store. He may not care; some people just think all that complexity looks kewl whether they have any use for it or not....
