City carry vs Outdoor carry

There are distinct environments that call for different types to knives, if they are to be carried by you.

For the city folks, their Everyday Carry would probably be something along the line like Darrel Ralph'S EDC, or something similar.

And the usual or normal number of city-carry knives would probably be narrowed down to one, or maybe two.

For the outdoors, there could be a number of knives, carried or taken along for various purposes or jobs around the camp. Big knives for chopping, small knives for food preparation and one or two in-between lengths for the just-in-case incidents.

There are some hardcore types who carry about five knives even when they are roaming the city streets. For most of us ordinary Joes, one would probably suffice.

What about you?

Well for me I'll carry tools (Leatherman Juice, SAK etc), anything that doesn't look threatening to the authority. Scotland is pretty safe.
As for outdoor, a CS Recon Tanto will do the trick, of course with a SOG Sealpup as backup.

golok, I think there is a third type of carry that
you've overlooked.....wilderness / camping carry.

For urban carry it's a leatherman suprtool or Juice
Kf4 and some type of stockman or lockback for me.

For outdoor carry ( yard /farm work) It's the same
except a heavy duty lockback that day.

For wilderness / camping a leatherman and a fixed
blade of about 5>6" goes along.

On Sunday I'm down to just the Kf4 Leatherman Juice. :D :D

here in rural NY they're pretty easy on knives. city carry for me is either a large folder or medium fixed blade (Spydie Military or various puukkos). for outdoors/camping/dayhikes it's a 6"-7" bowie and maybe a cheap machete depending on what we have planned.

I like in a pretty urban environment so I don't usually carry too many at once. Usually, my small Seb with a back up like a SAK or my SS Cricket will do the trick. When I camp or am at my girlfriend's family farm I'll carry a bit heavier.

For urban carry: Leatherman Super Tool 200, Leatherman Micra, Buck 701.

For outdoor/wilderness/camping: Same ones as for urban carry with the addition of a Buck 112 and a Buck 123/usa fillet knife.

At least a Schrade Old Timer slipjoint. But just behind the truck seat a HI 20" Sirupati.

I also switch up my carry routine depending on where I am. Around campus, I carry a Benchmade 550 Griptillian, a Leatherman Super Tool, and a LM Micra. If I'm out camping, hiking, or hunting, I'll normally carry all of the above and add a Becker BK-9 combat bowie or Buck 119.

I keep on meaning to add a Case Stockman to the pocket load, but it seems as though every time I visit a knife store, I buy everything but a stockman! Oh well, I guess that just gives me more excuses to go back to the store. :D

Outdoor carry is usually a Buck hunter or a medium to large fixed blade and of course a SAK. For urban carry (which is more often) is a BM 556 (most often lately) or a 3 - 3.5" folder.

For day to day city carry, I normally will have a primary EDC (Large Folder L. Pocket), secondary EDC (Smaller Folder R. Pocket) and my 310 stays in my coat pocket at all times.

If and when I finally get to do some outdoor activities I'll carry a decent sized fixed blade.
