I have acquired a very odd knife made by Harrison Brothers and Howson Sheffiled . I did find the knife offered for auction in 2010 the auction house listed it as an oyster opener ( you could not open an oyster with this knife unless the shell had hinges) The knife is a dispatch or stabbing weapon. I thought the knife was a made up piece because of the odd large quillion. The knife is original for sure and not tampered with. The quillion locks your hand very tight and prevents slipping with a bloody or wet hand. The overall knife is 7 1/4 inches hilt is 4 inch with a silver cap the blade is 4 inches makers marks are clear The blade top is convex with a flat down side spear point any stab wound would be cresent shape I would like any info you might have, The firm that made this sold many Bowie knives during our civil war
