Hi Guys,
I have come across a Civilian Carbon fiber with VG-10 blade steel.
I was aware that all CF Civilians are ATS-55 according to this:

Are you aware of any other reason for this unusual combination ?

It is not fake 100% !
I am trying to think of reasons and the only one that come to my mind (besides it being a sprint run or several leftover units mated with irregular blades) is that it was a warranty case where an old ATS-55 CF Civilian was sent with a ruined blade that had to be replaced and because VG-10 is the only current production blade for the Civilian, it was retrofitted to the CF scales.

Tell me what you make of it

Thanks !

My guess would be blade swap, and probably not factory. Alternate explanation could be previously undocumented variation (Spyderco is notorious for them), but my money would be on aftermarket job. Spyderco does not replace blades. If they got one in on a warranty claim, they would replace the entire knife or issue store credit for its MSRP. Because of their CQI program, odds are good that a new blade would not fit the old handle without a lot of hand fitting that would make the project far too expensive to be worthwhile. Add in the fact that it is a Seki made knife so the new blade would have to be shipped in or the old knife shipped back there for the repair and it becomes even more unlikely.
