I have the opportunity to buy one of the in almost mint condition. The only mark I can see on it is a scuff on the clip end of the knife. The blade looks never to have been used. It has the case but not sure the paperwork.

Seems my Google fu is a bit off tonight. What is the going price for one of these?

Thanks in advance,

Pics, I'm thinking not the Karambit? The only wear I can see is on the very ends that have rubbed on the inside of the zipper.

You've got a grail.
Are you going to sell it or just curious?
I've seen the SE model going for 200+ and PE for much more. In these situations it usually depends on what the market will bear.

The civilian isn't necessarily a karambit, there is no ring on the end of it and typically a karambit is a hawk bill blade and not a reverse S curve. ;)
It depends on how much you love the knife, that is what the value will be. If you absolutely "gotta have it", then it might be high. The average cost I'd guess is $200-$300 (at the very highest). That knife doesn't necessarily come with paperwork though, just the pouch.

So the ring on the end is what defines a Karambit? I was going off the description I saw of a SE one off the hq. It's not really my taste, but I'm going to be able to pick it up and get it to someone who can appreciate it. Side benefit of a job where I cover multiple states, lots of little holes to look in.

Thanks for the info.

Last time I followed auction prices on these the PE's when "mint, with pouch" were bringing $250+ and the SE's $200+ in similar condition, but that was a couple years ago. Interest in them, and thus demand and price, may have waxed or waned since then.

That is what I've read in terms of physical identification, traditionally the ring and the hawk bill blade. Thanks for the pictures, that looks pretty clean.

nice so see a different variant of a great piece. my friend will certainly love to see a plain edge version

The SE version is also pretty good looking...

...as are the PE CF versions. These two are left handed, there are right handed ones as well.

IMHO, the Tufram ones are better suited to "collectible" status than as users, the main reason being that the "contact patch" of the clip is a large extension of the Kraton inlay rather than steel. It makes it difficult to draw the smoothly when new, then wears out relatively quickly to the point where it offers no grip at all.
