hello spyderco fans! i currently own an aluminum civilian, and sometimes when i flick the blade out, it actually snaps back before locking into place. is there something that can be done to fix this? i talked to a friend and he said there might be too much oil, but i didn't put any in it since i bought it a few weeks ago. if i was to return it to spyderco, what would i tell them? thanks for any replies!

Check to see if the back lock is engaging fully. If it is not, send it back pronto! One other word of advice, "flicking" isn't really very good for the knife as it stresses areas such as the stop pin and causes premature wear. I got this advice from Jim March when I complained about the same thing when I first got my REKAT Sifu. Perhaps the problem that I had is the same one that you are having. The large blade would build up so much momentum that it would literally bounce off of the stop pin and be clear of the lock before it could engage. I never QUITE cut myself, but I could see the real possibility of it happening.

Good luck with your knife.
